Kenya A. thompson

Director of Leadership Development

Kenya Thompson served as interim director from October 2016 - December 2016. Currently, she is the Director of Leadership Development responsible for leading The Road. In May of 2016, Mrs. Thompson graduated from Candler School of Theology receiving her Master of Divinity Degree with certificates in Episcopal Studies and Black Church Studies. She is in the ordination process in the Episcopal Diocese of Atlanta. Kenya also graduated from Howard University (BS) and American University (M. ED).

Kenya served as an intern for three years at the Church of the Good Shepherd in Covington, GA. She also served the Candler community as a worship planning leader while she pursued her M.Div. In addition, Mrs. Thompson worked as Chaplain for Crossroads Community Ministries, an organization that serves the homeless community of Atlanta. Previous to pursuing her call to ministry, Kenya was a college guidance counselor with specific interests in supporting first generation college bound students gain college admission. One of her greatest joys in life has been providing guidance and support for youth and young adults as they travel their paths in search of vocation and purpose.

In her free time Kenya enjoys riding her bike, cooking, reading and collecting record albums.
